Kay Kyser - Band Leader Autographed Photo 1946

Description: Here is a really neat 77 year old vintage 8 inch by 10 inch autographed by the famous big band leader -Kay Kyser. This photo is black and white and has a matte finish. The following handwritten message appears in black ink in the bottom left corner of the photograph - “To ‘The Penn Wheelmen’ Good luck with your ‘Victory Follies of 1946’ -Sincerely, Kay Keyser”. This photo was from a collection of celebrity autographed photographs from a participant in the Penn Wheelmen’s “ Victory Follies of 1946”. It is believed that these photos belonged to a participant in that production by the name of George Fleischman who was a singer and possibly dancer in that program. The “Victory Follies’ was a minstrel and revue program celebrating the WWII victory. This program was held in the Rajah Theater in Reading, Pennsylvania on April 29, April 30 and May 1st in 1946. The photo is in acceptable condition. The bottom left corner is torn off about one half inch from the corner point. The other three corners are disturbed by photo corners that once held this photo in a scrapbook. The photo corners evidently stuck to the photo and when removed tore off the photo finish in the corners. No other imperfections.
