Description: Kay Blaco Abstract Modernist Oil Painting Mid-Century Modern Vintage Listed Art Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage oil painting on masonite board by the listed California artist, Kay Blaco. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This abstract painting has a dramatic color palette in black, red, and white. It is framed in its original dark brown wooded frame with a tan linen liner. The exterior frame dimensions are approximately 30 1/2 inches by 14 1/2 inches. The sight area is about 27 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches (the board is slightly larger; its edges are obscured by the brown paper backing). Unpacked, this piece weighs 3 pounds 6.0 ounces. It would be an awesome addition to a collection of mid-century modern fine art. Identification This painting is by the listed California artist, Kay Blaco. It is titled verso, "BAGPIPES." This piece was framed at a shop in Chicago. It was acquired from the northern California estate of a college professor. The painting is vintage, and the exact age is not known. Condition This piece looks great overall, as shown. The frame has very light wear. The back side is as shown, with some rips to the brown paper backing.
