There is light foxing.Biography Katherine Cameron was a painter, etcher and illustrator who was the sister of Sir David Young Cameron. Born at Hillhead, Glasgow, the daughter of a Church of Scotland minister she studied at Glasgow School of Art, 1890-1893 under Fra Newbery and furthered her studies in 1902 at the Académie Colarossi, Paris with Gustave Courtois, (1852-1923). In 1897, she contributed to the then infamous Yellow Book and was a prolific exhibitor. She showed at every major venue in England and Scotland including the Aberdeen Artists' Society, RA, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, FAS, Barbizon House, GI, RE, RSW, Glasgow Society of Women Artists, Connell and Sons and Walker's Gallery, London.Cameron also illustrated many children's books and was a member of the RSW. She was also elected an Associate of the RE in 1920. Examples of her work are represented in the collections of Aberdeen Art Gallery, Tate, V&A, Recording Scotland, British Museum and Library of Congress, Washington DC America, hold her work. Late in her career, she held a solo exhibition at the Annan Gallery, Edinburgh in 1959. She was married in 1928 to the art collector and connoisseur Arthur Kay, (1860-1939).
