SAD Caroline Quiet and Sw@dyThis album by Karolina Cicha and Sw@da have created in many languages: the language of nature and the language of multicultural Podlasie, the language of emotion, tradition and contemporary jargon of sampled sounds. The result of the meeting of a leading Polish folk artist and music producer is SAD, a disc that carries purification. Metaphysical, alternative and electronic, for Silent fans - surprising.They were combined with similar experiences and a sense of "appreciation" and a desire to create music that gives energy to live the world positively. - The inspiration usually came from Sw@dy instrumental output ideas based on percussion and bass line or a looped sampled instrumental theme - explains Cicha. - I chose a traditional melody belonging to a minority living in the Podlaskie Voivodeship or wrote my text, which I dressed in a melody. We found that, although times have come very sad, we both like a style of work where, like children, joy is the dominant emotion.The axis of their search remained the Podlaskie Voivodeship: Białystok, where they grew up and the villages that surrounded it. A city with a huge amount of wooden construction, the capital of the disco-polo trend in postperel reality. Capitalism waking up in the surrounding villages and towns or the first siding facades covering wooden masterpieces of rural architecture. The climate of your grandmother's holidays, the climate of Polish, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian or Tatar villages, where you went for the first sightseeing vagaries and then, during your studies, for field research.This linguistically multicoloured landscape is present on the disc in the form of songs belonging to cultures that have contributed to the region's rich cultural mosaic for centuries. There is a lot of root energy in these musical landscapes that comes from nature. There are broken grooves and non-obvious instrument fusions, introducing you to a dance trance or blissful state. - Variety, sincerity and deep forest - adds Wiktor Szczygieł or Sw@da. It was he who oversaw the whole, combining the vocals and lyrics of Karolina and recordings of instrumentalists from the Company, which creates and gives concerts with Cicha: Patrycja Betley, Karolina Matuszkiewicz and Mateusz Szemraj.SAD is a metaphysics of a Podlasie locality full of amazing collisions and contrasts. This is the metaphysics of the end of the world, which Wiesław Szumiński photographs in his "Praise of the Province" series. Some of these photos are visually complemented by a musical SAD.
