The K460 antenna is only 2.0 inches tall with a final height tolerance of plus or minus 0.2 of an inch as measured from the bottom of the weather skirt to the top cap of the antenna. The antenna covering is made of black flexible PVC and has a bottom weather skirt to protect the RF connection on the radio housing. We silver solder all reworked internal antenna connections. The retuning of the antenna achieves a minimum signal gain of up to +3 dB that will effectively double your transmit and receive signal power due to the very low VSWR and excellent 50 ohm impedance match as compared to an untuned antenna. Our retuning also allows for a much smaller antenna height without any loss of performance by eliminating all of the unused space inside the antenna covering.
