Description: JURGEN, A Comedy of Justice, by James Branch Cabell, with an introduction by Edward Wagenknecht. Virgil Burnett has illustrated the book with a number of black-and-white drawings throughout the text, and eight water-color drawings on the full page. The format, binding and typography are designed by Ted Gensamer, who selected Monotype Bembo types; the text being composed in thirteen-point with three points of leading, thirty-point Bembo for the chapter titles, and thirty-six point Bembo for the initials which open each chapter. The page size is 7 x 11 inches, and there are 290 pages. The text was composed and printed by The Stinehour Press, Lunenburg, Vermont. The color drawings were hand-colored through stencils at the Walter Fischer Studio in New York City. The wove paper has a soft white eggshell finish and was specially made for this edition at the Mohawk Paper Company of Cohoes, New York. The book has been bound in buckram by the Tapley-Rutter Company of Moonachie, New Jersey, and stamped in gold on the front with an illustration by the artist.
