Description: June 9, 1945 Pre-Bizone (Pre Federal Republic of Germany) zone 1946 Hummel #57/0 Titled "Chick Girl" TMK 2. 1944 Sister Hummel was diagnosed with tuberculosis. 1945 Hummel figurines gained popularity in the U.S. when returning American Soldiers brought them home. 1946 The wartime embargo was lifted and Goebel firm was granted a permit to manufacture and export Hummel figurines. 1946 Nov 6th Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel Birthname Berta Hummel, died in the Sieben Convent of TB at the age of 37 in Bad Saulgau Germany. 1947 Britain and U.S. share 1 of 6 divided up zones of Germany. This was called Bizone. 1950 All allied zones combined to make East Germany and West Germany. This is when TMK stamps reflected this. 1954 The first modeling of M.I. Hummel figurines was started by Master Artisan Gerhard Skrobek. Not to be confused with Hummels still created prior to Gerhards employment, by Moller and Unger. 1955 Gerhard Skrobek succeeded Arthur Moller and Reinhold Unger and regularly participated at meeting in the Kloster Sieben Concerning discussions about the design of figurines. Gearhard created many prototypes for the collection of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik and other associated companies. 1956 The TMK-2 Full bee now became a TMK-2 Small bee. The bee is smaller than the full bee with the wings level with the top of the letter V. 1957 The TMK-2 Small High Bee. The bee is shown rising above the letter V. So, how to tell the difference between an early 1940s V Full Bee and a 1950's V Bee is the 50's bee is smaller, but not as small as the later stylized V bee. See the last photo of the Full Bee and the smaller Full Bee. My goal is to deliver excellent customer service and continue to keep 100% feedback.
