Julius Kroll caricatured for a Berlin newspaper until he left in 1933, wary of the rising power of Adolph Hitler and the political harm he may have done with his cartooning. He emigrated to America in 1933 and was quickly utilized by the Saturday Evening Post, the New York Times and various other newspapers wanting his unique style of caricature. Kroll produced thousands of great caricatures including Presidents from Franklin Roosevelt through Nixon, and others historical figure. Clarence Douglas Dillon (born Clarence Douglass Dillon; August 21, 1909 – January 10, 2003) was an American diplomat and politician, who served as U.S. Ambassador to France (1953–1957) and as the 57th Secretary of the Treasury (1961–1965). He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the National Security Council (ExComm) during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His conservative economic policies while Secretary of the Treasury were designed to protect the U.S. dollar.
