Joseph Grippi was in his time a pupil of Hans Hofmann, then Stuart Davis, but perhaps was better known as Jackson Pollack's framer, and finally as the owner of the legendary Gallery G in New York City where he represented many of the finest artists of the second half of the 20th Century. At one point he was the print maker for Pop Artist Andy Warhol climaxing with the Cantaloupe series of 1979.
