Description: D’ARTAGNAN BOOKS This is a first edition in good condition. It was published by Charles H Kerr & Co in 1906. I have not listed this book as signed, but there is a signature - '? Whitehead Auburndale Massachusetts'. I can not make out the initials conclusively but, this could be Alfred North Whitehead. I can find no examples of his signature to compare this one with - so it could be his, a member of his family, or completely unrelated. I find there to be a large coincidence that a relatively important book on philosophy, is signed by a 'Whitehead' in Auburndale. Alfred North Whitehead was affliated to Harvard University, lived in Cambridge Massachusetts famously, but his residence when he was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 1925 is listed as Auburndale. This is a 1st Edition / 1st Printing. Condition: Book - Good - rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners, edges and covers, a slight spine lean, marking to the covers, page edges and a few pages, some foxing and discolouration to the page edges and a few pages, some darkening to the top page edges and soft tanning to the pages.
