Hard to find Original 1974 First Pressing Jazz / Folk / Pop / Rock album from Joni Mitchell featuring a host of great players like Tom Scott, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Robbie Robertson, Jose Feliciano, John Guerin, Max Bennett, Joe Sample, Larry Carlton, Wilton Felder, Chuck Findley, Jim Hughart, Milt Holland, Wayne Perkins, Dennis Budimir, Susan Webb and Cheech and Chong. In the Original Embossed Matte Finish Gatefold Cover with the Lyrics inside the Gatefold but without the line of Credits at the bottom of the left side of the Gatefold and NO Cutouts, promo markings or Barcode. On the Asylum “Clouds” Labels. As far as I can determine this is a Santa Maria First Pressing as indicated by the Runout Vinyl / Matrix markings read: Matrix / Runout (Side A Runout Etched): S \ SD-5072 B1 A1 7E-1001-A1 CSM A7Matrix / Runout (Side B Runout Etched): SD-5072 B-1 7E-1001-B1 CSM A2 2 CONDITION The Embossed Gatefold Sleeve is in good shape. There is some shelf wear, dirtiness on the matte finish light colored cover and corner softening/wear. There are some small brown spots. Still solid with no splits, other stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spots some light scuffs, marks and hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. VG visually but plays mostly VG+ or better with just a few spots of groove noise and a couple random soft tics. There are some repeating soft tics on side 2, song 2, nothing that distracts. Might be improved by a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The labels show some faint spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
