Description: Description: A hand-made pewter vessel by Wisconsin metal artist Jon Michael Route (b 1954). It's made of patchwork pieces of textured pewter soldier together. It's an architectural form, clearly inspired by Prairie Style architecture (specifically, it reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple, in Oak Park). Jon Michael Route is a metal artisan and jeweller, who has worked in mixed metals for decades. He's also the owner of One 10 Gallery, in Frederic, Wisconsin. Just a note: it is not watertight, but you could easily drop a small vase or liner into it if you wanted to use it for fresh flowers. I think it would be better-suited to dried vegetation. Size: 6.125" tall, 5.675" square (at the widest). Mark: Stamped "PEWTER / J ROUTE" on bottom, hand-dated 1988. Condition: Very slight wear, otherwise fine. Shipping weight is 6.0 lbs. Shipping and insurance will be $19.95 to any street address in the contiguous US. We are always happy to combine shipping at actual cost.
