Description: A RARE COPY of "Johnson's Household Book of Nature containing full and interesting descriptions of the Animal Kingdom based upon the writings of the Eminent Naturalists Audubon, Wallace, Brehm, Wood and others." The 1880 Edition complete with 63 Illustrated Color Plates. Published by Henry J. Johnson, New York. The Two Book Set was rebound in the 1960's by the Forest City Bookbinding Company in Cleveland, Ohio. During that process to preserve the books, one illustration (Plate I) was lost. But the other 63 are still gloriously present. The set contains 776 pages. The books measure 10" x 8", and together measure 3" in width. After 144 years, the books are in good condition; the text is legible and the illustrations still vibrant. (Individually the color plates have sold for $8 - $15 a piece.)
