Standing on 4 feet depicting realistic lions, it showcases rococo cartouches engraved with a noble coat of arms as well as stylized motifs. It measures 19'' from handle to handle by 14'' in height by 9'' in depth, weighs 131 troy ounces, and bears hallmarks as shown. The arms are those of Calverley and Blackett and with Blackett in pretense, for William Calverley of Calverley, who became 2nd Baronet on the death of his father in 1749, and his wife Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Sir William Blackett, Bart of Newcastle. Sir William assumed the surname and arms of Blackett. The Calverley Toilet Set of 1683 is at the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
