Autograph is on a magazine page that profiles Douglas and some of the murderers he's profiled, and has him standing rather dramatically in front of his car. It is inscribed and signed "To Craig - may all your dreams and wishes come true for you! Warmest best wishes John Douglas." It retains the envelope it was sent in, which has Douglas' address sticker in the upper left hand corner and a postmark from Richmond Virginia. On the back of the page are some of the killers he interviewed, including Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, The Son Of Sam, Jeffrey Dahmer and the Green River Killer. Autograph comes from the estate of Craig Perosi, a prominent Maryland autograph hunter. Perosi collected autographs over several decades, including sports - football, hockey, Olympic and baseball mostly - and scientist, explorer, police, FBI, author, and Nobel Prize winner autographs, among some others. Unlike some collectors who are content to get a single autograph from a celebrity, Perosi would take the acquiescence of a signer as permission to seek additional ones. Included in the collection, for example, are a dozen Bishop Desmond Tutu autographs, complete with correspondence and postmarked letters over a few decades. With the passing of his wife last year, his remarkable, impeccably kept collection is just now coming to market.
