Colombo made use of new manufacturing techniques to produce his firebeglass and leather masterpiece. The black fibreglass shell is wrapped in tan leather with soft cushions fixed to the back sides and seat. The chair is incredibly comfortable and the swivel base adds an element of practicality to the design. The Elda chair is featured in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Louvre in Paris.
