His stories are generally larger than life, cosmic tales or space opera. He has also worked on several of DC's major characters, including Batman, Jack Kirby's Forth World stories, especially Darkseid (Cosmic Odyssey), and for introducing his own DC character, The Weird. His own creator-owned character, Dreadstar, was the first comic series published by Marvel's Epic imprint.
