Description: Up for bid is a color changing Calcite Rhomb from the Challenger Cave, Mexico. This material is similar to the famous Calcite from Terlingua Texas. It glows bright Blue under SW UV (first picture), Yellow under MW (Second Picture) and bright Pink under LW light (third picture), and has a very bright and long lasting phosphorescence. You can even see the fluorescence and phosphorescence in a brightly lit room! This material is mined as huge crystals up to 1.5 meters long. Calcite has perfect cleavage in all three axis so when these large crystals are broken up, they produce miniature versions of themselves. I have not seen much new material come out of Mexico. This piece comes from an old collection.
