Though still obviously taken back by the terrible & untimely loss of his brother in Grateful Dead music, Brent Mydland - this musically tight performance catches Jerry, John Kahn Melvin Seals & Co. really pushing the envelope on the Garcia Band repertoire, to the Fan's delight ! My childhood best Buddy once told me he considered the Warfield Theater ( on Market St. ) in San Francisco " Church ", when the Jerry Garcia Band would grace it. And there indeed ... is where Garcia & the J.G.B. usually delivered their Live-Magic ! in the Bay Area throughout all four seasons. However, this Rare & Different opportunity to play Shoreline ( due to the Grateful Dead releasing the previously-booked Venue with the news of Brent's passing ... ) allowed Pro-Shot Multi-Angle cameras the necessary room & space to work their magic & very-well ! Thus, effectively & Impressively ! capturing the Garcia Band on a Real-Hot ! night, where the tightly-packed and less roomy (yet cozier) Warfield would have been a really difficult challenge to produce a quality High-Fi DVD Video of this visual caliber. So the pressure may have really been on Jerry to deliver his best on this pro " filming " night, but the positive-energy and good-spirited performances from Melvin Seals, David Kemper, Gloria Jones & Jackie LaBranch took it right off of him. So what does Garcia & his Crew do ? They Deliver ! Big time !! ... Wow !!!
