JEFF JOHNSON & SHORTHANDS~I SAID IT AND I'M GLAD~ORIG 1966 ROCKABILLY 7" on DEWL

Description: JEFF JOHNSON + SHORTHANDS~I SAID IT AND I'M GLAD~ORIG 1966 ROCKABILLY 7 on DEWL Media: 45s Condition: VG+ Cover Condition: N/A Label: DEWL Reference Number : 4268 Country: US Date: 1966 RARE RARE RARE 1966 ROCKABILLY 45 from JEFF JOHNSON & THE SHORTHANDS featuring I Said It and I'm Glad/ What's Our World Coming To. Vinyl has some surface marks nothing I can feel. Plays through fairly clean. Labels have some light wear. Here is some info on this RARE 45 from the Rare Rockabilly website: During 1964 Jeff recorded the third commercial release of his career. Cut in Phoenix and produced by Jerry Reece, the session saw the return of guitarist Gene Little and bassist "Peewee" to the studio to back Jeff. Two original tunes were waxed, "I Said It And I'm Glad" (written by Jeff and Gene Little) and "What's This World Coming To". The latter title was a self-composed lament set to the tune of "Battle Hymn Of The Republic." Jeff's reasons for composing this torrid political statement was due to his "... dismay with the 'hippies' protesting, and lack of respect for the US Military and basically the decay in the morals and standards at the time." Released on Jerry Reece's Phoenix based Dewl label, Jeff anticipated a minor furor over "What's This World Coming To". "That one got quite a bit of attention especially in California where one deejay told me, 'If I played that the hippies would attack our station'." To Jeff's surprise, and the detriment of the west coast long hair set, the Dewl record became quite popular in Las Vegas. GRADING Here is the standard Planetary Sounds grades records by (with help from Goldmine). Remember, even with such a guide, grading is still subjective. Albums are visually graded under bright lights, though this is still not a perfect method may not reveal deeper flaws. Occasionally, albums are play graded--which will be noted in the listing. Please ask questions if unsure about anything BEFORE you bid. Still Sealed (SS) As good as it gets. Unopened and most likely perfect all around. Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. Probably played once. Handled with utmost care. Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record. The record shows no obvious signs of wear. Covers show no more than the most minor defects. The same holds true for inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, etc. Near Mint Minus or Very Good Plus Plus (NM- or VG++) Just a hair more wear than NM, but still very close to Near Mint overall. Vinyl may have nominal sleeve or paper scuffs, cover may have hint of wear. VG++ will be just a fraction below NM- due to one additional tiny defect. Very Good Plus (VG+) Album and cover show some light signs that it was played and otherwise handled with care of it. Record surfaces may have slight surface scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect play. If not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. Very Good (VG) Increased scuffs or light scratches, surface noise evident upon playing. Covers and labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers, or minor seam splits. RETURN POLICY: Refund will be given as: MoneyBack Item must be returned within: Days_30 Return Policy Details: NOTE: There's a 10% restocking fee on all returns that are not our fault. We will gladly refund purchases if reasonable fault is found. We are, however, not responsible for any damages that occur during shipping. If damages occur and buyer has not purchased insurance they are not eligible for a refund. While grading is subjective, nearly all gradings are acurate and done visually. Discrepancies on grading are eligible for refund if inaccuracy in grading can be established as negligent. Please contact us BEFORE sending anything back. Unauthorized returns will not be refunded. Shipping costs not included in refund price unless reasonable fault is determined.
