This item is Japanese vintage Daruma kokeshi doll made by Seifu Gono circa 1980s. Kokeshi dolls are made of zelkova. The glaring face of this kokeshi seems to protect us from all evil! "KOKESHI" is a traditional Japanese craft that has been around since the Edo period, over 200 years ago.It is a wooden doll carefully made by craftsmen one by one!From wood carving to painting, the craftsmen make them by hand.
