Description: Japanese Traditional Vintage Lantern 2 pcs set FROM JAPAN Made in 1938. It seems to be made of mixed materials and mostly copper but we are not sure. At the bottom of one of the lanterns it is carved in Japanese Kanji letters "Showa Year 13, December 13". On the other one there are 4 names carved, from some of the information we can find, our guess is that it might be the names of those who donated the laterns to a temple or shrine back in the days but we don't know the details so we are not sure. The Japanese standard voltage is AC/110V -130V and the light bulbs might only be able to be used up to this voltage so you might need to change the light bulbs to fit your country's voltage or change the cord/use a transformer to adjust the voltage. The original cord seems to have been replaced but it is used and old so for safety reasons it might be better to replace it with a new one. We don't know much details regarding these lanterns and we have only written what we know or what we have concluded from the information we can find. This is a very old item so we cannot guarantee that the condition will always be OK after we ship, so please only buy if you are OK with the condition or able to fix it in case it becomes damaged.
