In 1877 (Meiji period), Kyukyodo exclusively received the secret formulas passed down within the confines of the palace since the Heian Period, from prince Sanjo Sanetomi. Those secret formulas are known as 'Mukasa-no-Takimono,' the Six Kneaded Incenses.
