Magnificent brushwork in polychrome enamels depicting vibrant scenery in astounding, minute detail. The nishikide ground covers the surface with intricate brocades of spectacular pattern and coloration. Three reserves feature serene gardens and tea rooms with sage-like figures looking out over the scenery from the veranda. Additionally there are auspicious white cranes, blossoming peony and pawlonia, rolling waves, gnarled ancient pine trees, chrysanthemum crests, and much more. All highlighted in wonderful, brilliant gilding. Too much to list, see photos for all of the superb detail. Produced with impeccable taste and craftsmanship in the traditional Japanese aesthetic of the age of the Shogun and Samurai.
