Description: A beautiful Japanese Cloisonné vase featuring red rose blossoms and bamboo on a background transitioning from white into blue at the base. The body is bronze and decorated using the Ginbari method of translucent enamel and cloisonné wiring over textured silver foil for an iridescent effect. It is from the Japan Meiji period and is in good antique condition for silver Ginbari of this age. There is an approximate 0.10" diameter area of missing enamel and a few other similar areas pinpoint in size. There are also two hairline defects in the enamel 1 1/4" and 1" long with associated oxidation of the underlying silver. See pictures for the condition issues. The vase diimensions are approximately 7" tall x 3" dia.
