The bridge they came over is washed out by the rain so they have to stay at the house for the night where they are offered a meal and a place to sleep by the strange inhabitants. Bits and pieces of the eerie prophecy enter into the conversation and they hear two ear-piercing screams from the swamp that night - screams that only come when strangers have invaded the swamp.
