Description: Beautiful britannia plate tea pot by James Dixon and Son Sheffield. Lovely swag engraved pattern around the pot, hollow handle with air holes to disperse heat when pouring with a very convenient thumb hold. Beautiful hinge to top, which also has a simple design around the edge. Difficult to date as company didn't use date marks, but is prior to 1879 when they added a trumpet mark to their wares. Pretty pot which whilst still perfectly useable is a lovely display item for home, prop, theatre production. We've left, apart from a gentle wash as found, and leave the buyer to decide if they wish to polish it up.
