Description: Custom built over a decade ago, this was crafted to be the house guitar for a monthly lock-in party at an Irish bar with "Rose" in the name. Hence, the laser-etched wooden Celtic Knot pickguard and rose gold sparkle finish. This one hurts to list... I'm reluctantly selling this guitar due to life circumstances, otherwise it would be mine forever. It is probably the most played guitar I have... and I have many. It has lived next to the desk in my edit room for years and never fails to impress. The 30+ year-old Pearly Gates with their Alnico II magnets have aged into this creamy, languid sound that none of my other guitars have... This guitar holds a very special place in my heart with its unique sound and history. If you are lucky enough to purchase, you won't be disappointed. Features: Body: Originally a first run Squier VM HH, I think... I bought it as a stripped body. I do remember filling in some bridge stud holes, though. Neck: after realizing that the Lock-ins were going to get ROWDY I removed the 7.25" fender neck I had on it and used a neck from a sunburst Squier VM Jaguar that I actually liked better... and who doesn't like a matching headstock... amirite?? Pickups: Pearly Gate pickups set from the late '80s/early '90s with covers I found in a discount bin in a little Catskills music shop back in the early 2000s. Bridge: Schroeder half Tele titanium bridge with an aged nickel finish. Controls: Heavy knurled vintage Tele knobs on CTS solid shaft pots with a push-pull coil split for added tonal versatility. Neckplate: It currently has a St. Anthony cross neckplate, because it magically disappeared after one of the parties. Once I realized it was gone, we said a prayer to St. Anthony... a few days later it magically reappeared. I JB Welded the cross to the blank plate and it's been on ever since. If this isn't your thing, I will gladly put on a new blank plate for you. Body: Shows signs of wear from the years of fun we've had together. Scratches and gouges on the back, and a few repaired chips on the front and sides. All wear is cosmetic and does not affect playability. Neck: Smooth and fast, 9.5 radius. It has aged to a smooth satin feel with the rosewood fretboard darkening to an almost ebony color. Overall: Well-loved and maintained, delivering exceptional sound and playability.
