Purchased from an estate sale in Los Angeles in the 1990s, by my father-in-law, a movie and TV editior who worked on classic shows from the 1960s, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres. Gene Autry was America’s favorite singing cowboy and western film star. A barnstorming flight enthusiast, he traveled to many of his performances in his twin-engine Lockheed 10 aircraft. During World War II, he qualified to fly 16 different Army Air Force aircraft and flew hazardous supply routes over the Himalayas.
