Here is a nice opportunity to enjoy the original artwork while saving on the cost of an original dustjacket. See my listings for more. Several different classic PhotoPlay, adventure & mystery jackets available. All digitally remastered dustjackets are shipped in a removable, Brodart or Demco archival dustjacket protector, and are ready to place on your book. Note: I believe that this early sepia illustrated cream colored jacket with brown lettering was used on all early green binding Grosset & Dunlap printings. Since the publisher was reprinting this book frequently, there were quite possibly yearly variants ... most likely some changes to the list of titles on the rear flap of the dustjacket. The latest publication date for this list of titles on the rear panel was 1911. I would be interested in hearing from any Jack London specialists who may have or have compared multiple copies of these early dustjacket variants. Please contact me. I will also be restoring and listing the full color version of this dustjacket which was used on later printings from the late 1910s through the 1920s. Due to the scarcity of this dustjacket, I have added an embossed digital watermark to these images to avoid unauthorized duplication. The embossed watermark will NOT appear over the artwork on the front panel. The counter-stamps identifying this as a reproduction WILL appear discretely on the flaps only. About Jackets: The dustjacket offered in this auction is digitally scanned from a high quality original. The master is then carefully restored to remove any minor imperfections. This significantly enhances the eye appeal rather than just offering a color photocopy with flaws. Great care is taken to painstakingly retouch these images with emphasis on maintaining the full scope of the original artwork and preserving the texture and granularity of the original. The dustjacket is then printed on an industrial quality machine which far exceeds the image quality possible on any inkjet printer, and produces sharper, crisper images and much better color definition (tone, hue & saturation) with pleasing results. About Postage: Combined shipping: Dustjackets are shipped boxed & wrapped via USPS First Class Parcel. First remastered dustjacket is $3.00. Each additional dustjacket is only 50c. Any extra postage charged at eBay checkout will be refunded. About Title: This story takes hold of the universal things in human and animal nature. It is an unforgettable picture of the whole wild, thrilling, desperate, vigorous, primeval life of the Klondike regions in the years after the gold fever set in. The tale itself has four its hero a superb dog named Buck. He is stolen from his home in Southern California; taken to the Klondike, and put to work drawing sledges. First he has to be broken in, to learn "the law of club and fang." His splendid blood comes out through the suffering and abuse, the starvation and the unremitting toil, the hardship and the fighting and the bitter cold. His adventures are as exciting as any man's exploits could be. About Author: Jack London (1876-1916), born in San Francisco, California, was one of the best-loved adventure writers of his time. He was one of the early American authors to have great success at commercial fiction by releasing his stories in both magazine serials and book form. His most famous novels CALL OF THE WILD and WHITE FANG were set in the Canadian Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush of the 1890s.
