Description: “It’s All News to Me; A Reporter’s Deposition” by Bob Considine. Considine (1906-1975), a prolific newspaperman, also wrote profiles of sports stars (Babe Ruth) and military figures. He was present at great events and familiar with global personalities in the 1940s through the 1970s. At his peak, Considine’s “On the Line” column was published by hundreds of newspapers. In this volume, he provides his own story, which includes his humble start covering high school sports and later encounters with notables such as Richard Nixon, Krushchev, Pius XII, Duke of Windsor, and the Rosenbergs. Eight pages of black & white photos include images of William Randolph Hearst, Nikita Krushchev, and Dwight Eisenhower, each with Considine. 6" by 9", hardcover with DJ, 398 pages, including index. Dated May 1967, second printing. Good copy in the original gilt-blocked cloth. DJ has tears at corner and sunning at edges. Top right corner of front board is slightly bent. The rest of the boards and the interior pages are tight, clean and strong; an old price is handwritten on flyleaf, otherwise pages are unmarked.
