A handsome young man wearing the fashion of the time is wooing his sweetheart before galloping off to war. This impressive piece weighs 3.5 pounds and is 13" in height. Along the bottom is a distinctive mark. A close up of the mark is included in the photos. I cannot read it. It might say gold plate. This work is in excellent vintage/antique condition. The lid does not come off. I don't think that it is supposed to. I think it is for ornament only. The metal ornamentation includes a dragonfly and a moth.
