Description: Large Antique, Vintage Italian Pottery Blessed Virgin Mother Mary Baby Jesus Majolica Baroque Wall Hanging Holy Water Font Stoup. This beautiful and rare piece of sacred art is is hand painted with very fine details. This picture has been referred to by many names: Blessed Mother Mary and Son Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus Madonna of the Angels and Son Maria and Jesus Mother of God Just above the mother and son is the Holy Spirit dove. It measures approx 13” across and 17” tall. Majolica is a richly colored, heavyweight clay pottery that is coated with enamel, ornamented with paints, and, finally, glazed. This particular piece is in decent condition considering it’s age. There is a large chip toward the top to the left of the Holy Spirit bird. There is a smaller chips below baby Jesus. There are also some minor chips to the paint throughout consistent with the age of the piece. This is being sold as-is, see pictures for more exact condition details. This pieces details and pottery style are consistent with pieces from the early 19th century. This time frame can not be guaranteed since it is unmarked.
