Description: Exquisite Irish Treasure "Emerald Jewel" Heirloom Porcelain hand crafted Egg Music Box by Ardleigh Elliott made in 2005, model # 73709. The egg was a limited edition with firing limited to 95 days. Each egg was fired 3 times. This piece is a first issue in the Irish Treasure Heirloom Porcelain Musical Egg Collection. It is hand numbered # A7034. The egg measures 6" tall and is 3" wide. It stands on 3 legs and is 3 1/4" across at the base. The music mechanism is made by Sankyo Japan and the brass winding key is on the bottom. The egg plays, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" which is printed on the bottom and plays perfectly.It is made of cream colored heirloom porcelain trimmed with 22K gold plated edges and embellishments. There are raised relief Celtic knots around the sides of the egg. The back of the base has a raised relief basket weave pattern. The front of the base says, "May the Road Rise Up To Meet You" the beginning of the centuries old Irish Blessing. The top of the base has a round gold plated scalloped piece where the egg is attached. The bottom of the base has a band with ovals and diamond shapes, some of which are painted with green enamel. The vertical center of the egg where it opens has gold plated edges with clear bezel set Swarovski crystals. There is a magnet on the inside top to keep it closed. The egg opens to a beautifully mounted gold plated Claddagh heart, hands and crown piece representing Love, Loyalty and Friendship. The arms and edge of the heart have more crystals. The crown and heart center have green enamel decorating them. The bottom is marked in gold print on tan flocked board with the piece name, series name, number, maker, year and piece info. There is a tiny spot of wear on the word "are" in the song title on the bottom. The egg is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or crazing.
