Description: Nice awarded Iraq Campaign Medal! Nice example of a iconic war on terror medal! interesting story, this came with a collection of 6 medals all acquired from a man who's wife was a high ranking medical officer in the army and who also had 2 sons in the army.... all of the medals, he had in his collection were either awarded to one of them or they acquired them directly from other service members who were award them! Sadly they didn't keep track of history or names.. still a very interesting story! The other 6x medals will be posted also - National Defense Medal , Humanitarian Service Medal, Prisoner of War Medal, new York conspcious service medal & Liberation of Kuwait Medal... I prefer to find medals like this that have a tangible story with them! The Medal itself is in great shape it exhibits minor use from wear but overall is a great piece! It is brooch marked G-GI. It is a poignant reminder of of US service in the middle east post 9/11 & would be great for a collector , veteran , historian or just someone who wants to own a piece of US history! The medal was created by President George Bush November of 2004. It was first distributed in 2005. It was awarded between 2003 & 2011. It was awarded to any US military personnel who performed duty within the borders of Iraq for 30 consecutive days or 60 non consecutive days. Aerial mission would count as 1 day per mission , anyone wounded or killed would automatically receive the medal! There are a variety of devices for phases of the war you can read up in these different places online! Don't miss your chance to own a piece of American history! Check out my other militaria and collectibles! Thank you
