Description: Ipomoea cairica Alba is a perennial vine in the Convolvulaceae family. Its native range is Tropical and S. Africa, W. Indian Ocean, Arabian Peninsula to Temp.E. Asia. Familiar names include Ivy-leaved Morning Glory, Messina Creeper, Mile a Minute Vine, Cairo morning glory, Coast morning glory, and railroad creeper. It can be invasive but acceptable for covering long fences or structures. A slim climber that has a bulbous root and ignescent base. It can grow to around ten feet in all directions and re-seed to get much more significant. It also has ovate leaves divided into 5-7 segments, lanceolate and pointed. You can put it in a container with something to grow up and trim as needed. The flowers are pure white and 2-3 inches across. It prefers full sun with well-drained soil. Zones 9-11 Germination Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover with soil. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover with plastic and keep temperatures around 65-75F. Germination is in 7-60 days.
