Description: We offer for your consideration this Gimbal Lens mount. This is a very heavy duty lens mount. Possibly suitable for mounting of Dichroic or Collimating Mirrors as well. Currently there is a, apparently clear, lens mounted in the gimbal. The lens is flat ground, approximately 4 inches in diameter, and 1 inch in thickness. The gimbal looks to be machined from aluminum and it has been given a bronze toned coating. The coating has some inconsistencies in the application. The gimbal aperture is approximately 2.5 inches. Their looks to be a fine rotation tuning knob located at the side of the aperture collar. (see picture for an idea of scale) I have only seen objects like this, in a past life, as a technical illustrator for a large aerospace contractor. Usually when penning layouts of breadboards used in precision laser measurement operations.
