Description: Inquiry into the Nature of Women's Exploitation was written in order to assemble ideas about the psychological, historical and contemporary reasons for the gross differences in life opportunities and experiences of men and women in rural West Bengal and beyond. As a result of her inquiry, the author came to a couple of conclusions concerning time management in the home and men and women's differing reproductive consciousness; an awareness that is essential for us all to create a fair and peaceful society wherever we live. And - to curtail unjustly won male privilege, men's assumptions of entitlement, misogyny, rape and war-mongering - psychological perspectives must change in order to promote and reward men's bravery, innate protectiveness, artistic genius and strength. This change will only happen when the essential labour needed inside and outside the home to maintain and reproduce life is shared, appreciated and valued properly. The emotional and physical lives of the girls and women were inquired into and many answers revealed by observation as well as questions relating to what happened before and after marriage, during pregnancy and after the birth of children. Significant social, cultural and biological aspects have been interrogated in order to challenge norms and stimulate changes in perspectives for the better.
