Description: FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE....! Found in an estate liquidation on the island of Madeira in Portugal, that of a family with ties to Germany. Vintage large Paper Mache Belsnickle type Santa Claus figure. The Santa stands 17 Inches tall and is signed by the maker on the base, "Ino Schaller, West Germany". He is wearing a white coat with silver trim and coated with mica dust. Santa is holding a real feather tree, three branches tipped with red berries. His hood is trimmed in faded red chenille. The original owner recalls purchasing this new in the late 1970s or early 1980s. There were a few flaws detected; 1. THE FEATHER TREE IS INTACT BUT A BIT LOOSE. 2. THE TIP OF HIS HAT HAS A TIGHT HAIRLINE.ILLUSTRATED. 3. THERE IS A RICE SIZED PUNCTURE IN THE FRONT, JUST BELOW HIS FOLDED ARMS, IN THE SILVER CLOAT TRIM. 4. THERE IS A CRACK THAT GOES FULL ROUND, WHERE THE BLACK BASE MEETS THE BOTTOM OF HIS WHITE COAT, ILLUSTRATED. LOOKS LIKE A SEPERATION THAT HAD BEEN REPAIRED. CLEAN, NO ODORS, NO ISSUES WITH HIS FACE, NO LOOSE OR MISSING DETAILS. I inserted a standard size playing card in some photos as a reference for size. MUCH OBLIGED
