The original Infinity midrange has been discontinued, so we had these custom made by a manufacture right here in the USA. Yes that is right, these are not made overseas. The specs and parameters were copied to ensure similar sound and physical fit. Original impedance (Re: 3.9 ohm), our copy is also 3.9 ohms. The basket size and screw holes are identical, so you do not have to modify the cabinet at all. The only change that is needed is on the negative speaker wire inside the cabinet. The OEM speaker has the positive terminal larger then the negative terminal, but with our copy they are both the same size, so you will need to cut the small connector off on the speaker wire and crimp on a larger connector. We had the surround changed from foam to rubber to improve the longevity. Rubber surrounds will also reduce cone break up and ensure low distortion.
