Description: This beautiful wooden Storyteller Shrine is a perfect addition to any collection of Hinduism collectibles. The cabinet has a series of doors that reveal a religious story culminating in the center with Krishna, Balarama, and Subhadra. There is no text as in the past most pilgrims would have been illiterate so the story was told via pictures. I don't have the date on this piece, but I believe to be quite old. It's a hard piece to sell as it is so stunning and unusual. The bottom front leg is leaning a little, but still stands straight. There is also some fading on the front panels and some wear in various places, which I believe add to its beauty. I did not want to alter the piece by fixing. This is a true piece of Indian history! It stands 17.5" tall, 8.5" wide and 7" deep. When doors are fully extended the width is 38"
