Description: This charming print is from a rare children’s book from the 1940s. It depicts a Cherokee Native American father (Sequoyah) creating a written form of the tribal language and teaching his daughter Ayokato to read and write with a feather quill. This color print is on thick pebbled papers with wonderful color. The color is actually richer and deeper than my scan shows. It is slightly cream colored either from originally or from age. It has text on the back, but the text is not visible through paper. The page measures approx. 9.25x11 inches, and the actual image area is about 7.75x8.5inches (19.5x21.5 cm). Please Note: The page has wrinkles in the white margin area of the print.
