Description: A vintage round brass footstool with 3 legs. It is 12 inches tall and 14 1/2 inches in diameter. The stool is in very good condition with a nice patina. The bottom rim of the seat is slightly concave with a beautiful pattern featuring peacocks and elephants that is brass and copper in color. I do not know if it is an actual brass copper blend or if this is just the color. The stool has cut-out pattern all the way around revealing an open interior with the exception of something directly in the center. This would have been where coals were placed, and the filigree opening would allow the heat to escape and warm the feet of the person using the stool. I cannot figure out how to open this item and it may have been soldered closed. All three legs are threaded and unscrew easily with a hand twist. The stool would be shipped with the legs unscrewed, and the new owner would simply have to twist them in. Vintage condition. Sturdy and built well. The brass is in remarkably good condition the flat head screws on the base have aging. The streaking on the bottom that you see is not actual damage or a defect. It is simply my poor cleaning effort and then I did not wipe off the polish that dripped down.
