Description: Superb Masonic Pair - 32 AND 33 Degree Scottish Rite 14K Jewels WITH DOCUMENTS! Superb 1921 KCCH & 1936 33 Degree Freemason Scottish Rite Jewels - BOTH WITH CERTIFICATES ITEMS INCLUDED: (See other listings for jewels w/o documents, ring & pins) 1- “KT COMM COURT OF HONOUR” (KCCH) 14K Jewel 2- “ORDO AB CHAO” 33° 14K Jewel 3- KCCH Certificate 4- 33° Certificate 5- Leather document pouch embossed with Supreme Council Stamp 6- Antique 14° Masonic 14K gold ring with inscription 7- Collection of pins-- some VERY RARE (13 different types, some multiples, 16 total) 8- Lot of documents & historical items 9- Antique men's leather jewelry box with gold embossed initials 1- KT COMM COURT OF HONOUR 14K Jewel The KCCH is not a simply a standard 32° rank or title. Rather, it is a highly regarded (and not easily earned) “Investiture." Strict guidelines stipulate, amongst other things, being a 32° Mason for a minimum of 46 months. - 14K gold “passion cross,” fitched, highly detailed engraving, inlaid with fine guilloché enamel, red. - Cross sits upon an incredibly intricate hand-engraved gold wreath of laurel leaves. - In the center of cross sits a raised circular plate with beaded gold border and white background. A green trefoil in center, surrounded by the words “KT.·.COMM.·.COURT OF HONOUR” - The reverse, meticulously engraved with stunning embellishments, reads: “PRES’D TO CARL ENGEL BY BUTTE CONSISTORY No. 2 BUTTE, MONTANA ELECTED OCTOBER 18, 1921” (Letters CBC & 14K at top) - Jewel hangs from white ribbon with gold top bar, in original black pouch lined with purple satin & velvet. “Carl Engel” is hand-written on tissue paper between the flap and the jewel. 2- “ORDO AB CHAO” 33° 14K Jewel An honor only bestowed upon the most dutiful Master Mason, who has demonstrated selfless service and devotion to the Freemason community. - 14K gold Teutonic cross, finely engraved, featuring pillars in center, inlaid with fine guilloché enamel, red. - Upon the cross, three intersecting triangles, forming a nine-pointed star. Within the intersected portions, the letters S.A.P.I.E.N.T.I.A., Latin for “wisdom.” - Beneath the star, crossing from bottom right, a sword. On the opposite, the “hand of justice.” - In center, a shield with double-headed eagle and compass & square in top corners. Encompassing shield, a ring with Latin phrase “ORDO AB CHAO.” - Two serpents surround centerpiece, each eating his own tail. - Interestingly, this jewel bears a striking resemblance to an illustration featured in 1914 title The Book of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry By Charles Thompson McClenachan. (pg. 495, “THE GRAND DECORATION OF THE ORDER”). This is especially true regarding the center area, which-- rather than being filled with blue and white enamel-- contains more negative space where the cross below can be seen. Also, the center ring on this version does not include the phrase "Deus Meumque Jus," which is commonly found on the 33° Jewel. - The reverse, masterfully engraved and ornamented with flourishes, reads: “PRESENTED TO CARL ENGEL BUTTE CONSISTORY No. 2 A. A.S.R. OF BUTTE MONTANA CORONETED MARCH 9 1936” (At top, Jeweler’s name, Fetting. At bottom, 14K) - Jewel hangs from white ribbon with gold top bar, in original black pouch lined with purple satin & velvet. Inside flap, stamped in gold, “A.H. Fetting M’fg. Jeweler Baltimore.” 3 & 4 - Original KCCH & 33° Certificates - Both original certificates featuring gold embossed seals, vibrantly colored stamps and signatures of Secretary General & Sovereign Grand Commander. - In margin of each document, myriad signatures from fellow 33° Freemasons from various dates and locations. - Folded (as is customary to be carried in pouch). 5 - Original Leather Document Pouch -Antique black leather document pouch. Inside pocket features gold embossed double-headed eagle and reads: “SUPREME COUNCIL, 33° A.·.&A.·.S.·.R.·. SOUTHERN JURISDICTION U.S.A.” 6 - Antique 14° Masonic 14K Gold Ring with Inscription -Beautiful 14K ring, inscribed as follows: "VIRTUS JUNXIT MORS NON SEPARABIT" (below, jeweler's name, "TOM B MONK" and "14K") 7- Collection of Pins-- Some VERY RARE (13 different types, some multiples, 16 total) -Pins from multiple generations of Masons in this family. Earliest identifiable date (pin 3) dates back to 1903, with the name "A. Wehl," who-- according to my research-- was an associate & friend of Carl Engel. *this is also the only pin with notable damage, as some of the enamel has cracked (see pictures). As pictures show, some pins very reflect documents (e.g. the "Shriner" style pins that share the same motif as the membership card for the Bagdad Temple, which the Butte Montana Freemasons shared with Shriners in the area). 8- Lot of documents & historical items -Multiple historical documents include two very old photos of a man & woman (which appear to have been cut for a locket) which were stashed away inside jewelry box. Framed (antique frame, paper-sealed back & hand nailed) 25th wedding anniversary celebration invitation for Mr. & Mrs. Carl Engel dated 1922. Bagdad temple membership card for Carl Engel dated 1955. Envelope, letter, membership card in plastic case, gold "Lifetime Member" card, Masonic sticker (never used) which came with 50 year pin (also never used, still on paper, see pictures) addressed to Abraham Engel (Carl Engel's son). 9- Antique men's leather jewelry box with gold embossed initials -Black top-grain leather jewelry box with red suede interior. A.L.E. (Abraham Lisman Engel) embossed in corner on the top-side of jewelry box. DIMENSIONS: - KCCH Jewel: approx 3 1/2" H (from top bar to bottom of jewel) x 1 3/4" W (at widest part of jewel) (Black leather case = 4 3/4" H x 3" W) - 33° Jewel: approx 4 1/2" H (from top bar to bottom of ribbon when unfolded) x 1 7/8" W (across ribbon) (Black leather case = approx 4 3/4" H x 3" W) - Certificates: approx 12" H x 14" W (each) - Document pouch: approx 3 3/4" H x 6.5" W (closed) CONDITION: - Some spotting on ribbon of 33° jewel in two areas-- light spotting (likely from some sort of liquid) near top bar, blue mark just behind the jewel on left side (not always visible, depends on how jewel is hanging). - Bottom side of ribbon on 33° jewel has been folded upward from storage in case. - As stated above, certificates are folded, as is customary (to be carried in document pouch) and are in phenomenal condition. - All other wear is very minor, especially for age of items. * * * IMPORTANT TERMS - PLEASE READ! * * * - By default, this item will be shipped in the safest and most expedited manner possible and will be fully insured. If you have any questions or concerns regarding shipping, please contact me before or immediately upon placing the order so those concerns can be addressed before item has shipped. - Higher-value items require an authorized signature upon delivery. This is not optional. - For buyer and seller protection, shipping address may not be changed. - Item will ship only upon completion of payment. - Customer satisfaction is our greatest priority. However, we cannot accept returns on certain valuable, sensitive, or delicate items due to the logistical difficulties associated with securing the appropriate handling of such items for transit. Therefore, this item is not eligible for returns. Please read all descriptions thoroughly and contact us with any and all questions you may have before placing order. We will get back to you in very short order. Thank you! QUESTIONS? Serious buyers - feel free to contact me for additional pictures, or with any questions you may have about this listing. POLICIESSHIPPINGPAYMENTRETURNSSHIPPINGPAYMENTRETURNS GENERAL SHIPPING POLICY Most items ship within 2 business days. If you have any comments/instructions regarding shipping, please let us know. We strive to make your purchase as streamlined as possible, and we thank you for your cooperation! Again, please let us know if you have any questions. PAYMENT POLICIES Payment through eBay platform (e.g. PayPal) only. For the protection of buyer and seller, no payments outside of eBay will be accepted. Items ship only after payment has been processed! RETURNS Our number one goal is customer satisfaction. We scout these hip, high-quality vintage & antique pieces, and bring them to the market so they can be loved and appreciated once again. Of course-- unless these items existed in a vacuum for decades with zero exposure to light, air or... you know... any sort of use at all-- vintage & antique pieces will inherently show some sort of age and/or wear. We do our very best to represent the true condition of the items, both in our pictures and descriptions. But, if you have any questions or need any additional pictures, please send us a message and we'll be happy to help you out. RETURN POLICY: Our return policies vary by product type, and will always be outlined on individual listings. However, there are certain categories of items that have some specific rules and restrictions, including but not limited to: LARGE ITEM (FREIGHT) Large items (e.g. furniture, large mirrors, library ladders, etc.) that are too large for traditional shipping methods require freight transport. Due to the considerable cost and time required to arrange for freight, items shipped via freight are non-returnable. Before placing your order, please read descriptions thoroughly, view pictures and let us know if you have any questions, or require additional information and/or pictures! Please see Freight Shipping Policies for more information regarding freight delivery requirements. HIGH-VALUE ITEMS High value items (e.g. jewelry, valuable antiques, etc.) inherently carry a higher risk of fraud & theft, especially while in transit. Due to these elevated risks, high-value items are automatically shipped with the fastest, most secure methods available and are always fully insured. In addition to these precautions, no changes to delivery address will be permitted after item ships, and a signature will be required upon delivery. Therefore, due to the higher risk of fraud/theft, and the fact that we cannot be present to inspect/prepare/insure/guarantee shipment for return we cannot accept returns on these items. We strive to make your purchase as streamlined as possible, and we thank you for your cooperation! Again, please let us know if you have any questions.
