Tsugaru Vidro, a traditional craft of Aomori Prefecture, is entirely handmade, so no two pieces are the same. The "Hirosaki" design features a cherry blossom pattern, likely inspired by the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival, one of Japan's most famous sakura festivals. In Hirosaki, the cherry tree branches are pruned to a low height, similar to the way apple trees are trimmed, allowing visitors to view the cherry blossoms up close. The beauty of these blossoms has led many to rank the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival as one of the top sakura festivals in Japan.
