Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This envelope is part of a group of unused remaining original envelopes whose purpose was to send invitations to the Jimmy Carter inauguration in Washington D. C. on January 20, 1977. They belonged to a member of Mr. Carter's inauguration committee and they are in fact a piece of history! The envelopes are in immaculate condition featuring a pencil drawn front and side view of Mr. Carter with the capital in the background. Under the picture are the words "The Inauguration of the 39th President of the United States". The top reads "James Earl Carter Jr. Jan. 20, 1977" Also on the envelope is an original, 1977 13 cent U.S. Independence stamp (not cancelled) featuring an early American Flag and a picture of Independence Hall. The back flap of the envelope has "self sealed" over the years most likely due to air moisture. These 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch envelopes are in perfect condition, no cancellation marks, finger prints or writing of any kind. THESE ARE SUITABLE FOR FRAMING. SEE PHOTOS
