Description: RARE important Surrealist Oil On Canvas By Jacob Moses Semiatin (1915 - 2003) - Dated 1948. This is in its original custom made frame. It features a poem on verso as follows: “Real Deal, Picasso would be proud, so would Marc Chagall. Salvador Dali would agree. Taking on fantasy. Color foam distort, mind to sort. Connecting the Surreal. The real deal.” The poet signed illegibly beneath the poem. I assume it to be someone important. At this point in his career he was exhibiting at both the Brooklyn. Society of artists, and the Contemporary arts gallery in New York. His works are on display at the Brooklyn Museum and other major collections. Art is 20” x 28” and frame is 24” x 32” Jacob Moses Semiatin was active/lived in New York / Hungary. Jacob Semiatin is known for Abstract and figurative painting. In the early years of his career (late 1930s and 1940s) he exhibited with the Brooklyn Society of Artists.
