ICA Volta 125 Plate Camera Folding Bed 9x12cm Dresden Pre Zeiss Icon Antique

Description: I have up for sale a wonderful antique / vintage original circa 1914 ICA Volta 125 Folding Bed 9x12cm Plate Camera made in Dresden , Germany - 1st trademark featuring a 5 Pointed Star logo . I believe this to be the earliest version of the Volta 125 series. Please view the closeup of the lens - it has printed Achromat 1:12.5 ICA Akt. Ges Dresden Please ask all questions prior to purchase - I am not an expert - simply an antique dealer who on occasion buys antique cameras that I find interesting . I have read conflicting information about the date of manufacture for the Volta . I have seen information dating it to 1914 and others dating it to 1920. I am not an expert and will leave it at that. The camera is in good estate fresh condition - its untested and sold As Is. I did check out the bellows and there are no holes. I shined a light from the inside of the bellows in a dark room and no light came through - so it appears that it is in good shape. The camera slides a bit clumsily along the metal carriage track - it probably should be oiled to slide better. I can not speak to anything concerning the lens as I do not have the knowledge base to do so. Please view the close up pics of the lens . The plunger operates the shutter as it should . The push button on the top opens the fold down door correctly . View all the pics and ask all questions prior to purchase . The camera measures approx 6-1/4" x 4-3/4" x 2" thick - I am not including the handle in the first measurement . It weighs approx 1 lb 11 oz. I will package with care and ship fully insured. The Volta is a folding bed camera for 9x12cm plates or sheet film. It was introduced by Ica in 1920, and production was continued by Ica's successor Zeiss Ikon until 1929. The common shutter equipment was a Derval shutter with speeds 1/15, 1/50, and 1/100 sec. plus T and B mode. Other shutters are reported. The used 135mm lenses were the Ica Extra-Rapid-Aplanat Helios, the Ica Periskop "Alpha" f11, the Novar f6.3 and the Dominar Anastigmat f4.5. ONLY THROW OUT THE BOXES AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM OR ITEMS AND FIND NO DAMAGE other than what may be noted in the condition report or shown in the pics. IN THE RARE EVENT YOU RECEIVED THE ITEM AND IT IS DAMAGED -CONTACT ME ASAP - KEEP THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING MATERIALS JUST AS THE ITEM ARRIVED AS THEY WOULD BE NEEDED TO HELP PROCESS THE INSURANCE CLAIM.
