The Roadstar II series would eventually become known as the RG series. It was produced in South Korea by Peerless. The serial number of (712616 indicates it was manufactured in Pusan Korea in 1987. The RG340 is one of only a handful of RG models with humbucker/single/single pickup configuration. It's also one of only a few RG models produced with a 22-fret neck. The RG340 features a basswood body bolted to a maple RG3xx neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components included Ibanez pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions and a TRT-1 double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut. The RG360 is a similar model which was sold in Japan and Europe. The RG350 is a related model with pickguard-mounted pickups in an HSH configuration. The RG540 is an upgrade model from the RG340.
