Description: Hudson, NEW YORK - Gooseneck Engine - American Museum of Fire Fighting: Hudson is a city located along the west border of Columbia County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 6,713. The city is named after the adjacent Hudson River and ultimately after the explorer Henry Hudson. Hudson is located on what began as a spit of land jutting into the Hudson River between the South Bay and North Bay, now both largely filled in. Hudson is home to the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Museum of Firefighting, one of the largest fire service-centered museums in the world. It is on the grounds of the FASNY Firemen's home, the first nursing home for firemen in the country. This Photochromatic postcard features a Gooseneck Engine "once known as the 'Wren' Water Witch Engine Co. of New York 1842." The card is in good condition. Dexter Press. West Nyack, NY. No. 45608-B.
